It comes as Netflix continues to cement its position as the go-to streaming platform for captivating and diverse content.

It has 233 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, documentaries, feature films and mobile games across a wide variety of genres and languages.

Below are some of our top picks for what to watch on Netflix this weekend and details of upcoming shows.

Harry Potter

Netflix dropped all eight Harry Potter films on its Irish platform earlier this week.

Netflix customers expressed their excitement of "bingeing" the well-loved franchise (Warner Bros.)

A spokesperson announced the news in a Twitter post, which has since racked up over 6 million views, saying: “All 8 Harry Potter films come to Netflix UK/IE Wednesday!”

The Harry Potter films to be showcased on Netflix are:

  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001)
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 (2010)
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011)

It’s the first time the streaming giant has ever had the films, as prior licensing rights meant it previously couldn't show them.
