Queen Elizabeth II will be laid to rest on Monday [September 19], following her death at the age of 96 last week.
TV channels across the world will be broadcasting the state funeral at Westminster Abbey in central London, with the late Head of State's coffin expected to process from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey on a gun carriage at around 10.30am and the funeral to commence shortly after.
The BBC, ITV and Sky will be broadcasting proceedings across all their multiple channels throughout the day, with the publicly funded BBC's special programming airing from 8am until 5pm on Monday and Huw Edwards, Kirsty Young and David Dimbleby among the presenters on hand to host the coverage.
While many will be tuning in to watch the funeral and pay their final respects to Britain's longest serving monarch, lots of people will be planning to spend their Bank Holiday very differently - with plenty across the country hoping to watch something unrelated to the Royal Family on Monday.
Channel 5
Channel 5 have packed their schedule fully of family-friendly movies on Monday, but with a nod to the late Queen throughout the day.
As the late monarch's funeral begins, Channel 5 will be airing an episode of The Adventures of Paddington at 10.35am, in what is perhaps a subtle tribute to the way the fictional bear has become an unofficial and unlikely royal mascot in the wake of the Queen's death.
The broadcaster will then go on to show the critically-panned The Emoji Movie at 11.10am, before the classic children's film Stuart Little begins at 12.25pm.
Ice Age: Dawn of The Dinosaurs and animated movie SING will also air on Channel 5 throughout the afternoon, at 1.50pm and 3.20pm respectively.
Channel 4
Considered the home of alternative viewing by many, some had expected Channel 4 to use the Queen's funeral as an opportunity to give TV fans some different options - given the channel's annual Alternative Christmas Message during the Queen's speech each year prior to her death.
However, while the broadcaster won't be streaming the funeral live on Monday, their schedule is still royal-related - showing a 1953 documentary titled, A Queen Is Crowned. The Oscar-nominated feature is narrated by Sir Laurence Olivier.
"On the day Britain says farewell to its longest serving monarch, Channel 4 will be airing A Queen Is Crowned, the classic 1953 documentary about her coronation, so that viewers can experience both the beginning and end of her remarkable reign," a Channel 4 spokesperson has said ahead of Monday's broadcasts.
"Following the service, Channel 4 will also broadcast two extended editions of Channel 4 News as well as the 1943 Vera Lynn film, We’ll Meet Again."
Disney Plus
As live TV focuses on the Queen's funeral, many across the nation will turn to streaming platforms in the hope of finding something to watch on telly.
Disney Plus have seemingly become aware of this face, with the platform currently offering everyone - including former subscribers - 75% off for one month only if they sign up before Monday.
Normally set at a monthly price of £7.99, people can now sign up for just £1.99 - free to cancel anytime - and binge-watch shows such as The Kardashians, The Simpsons, Modern Family, New Girl and Marvel Studios latest series, She Hulk - Attorney at Law. All Disney and Pixar movies are also available to stream, in addition to Marvel productions and the Star Wars collection.
Netflix
Netflix subscribers will be able to watch the platform as usual on Monday, with a whole host of new shows and movies added to the site over recent weeks.
Michael Jackson’s This Is It, a 2009 documentary about the late pop icon was added the Netflix UK's roster at the start of this month, alongside new movie Love in the Villa - a romantic comedy about a young woman who takes a trip to romantic Italy after a breakup, and has to unwittingly share her holiday with a cynical British man.
In addition to its new releases, Netflix is also the home of their popular original series - including Stranger Things, Russian Doll, The Umbrella Academy, Bridgeton and much more.
