What to know from the Packers’ first injury report of Week 16 vs. Panthers

The Green Bay Packers released the team’s first injury report of Week 16 on Wednesday. The team will release two more injury reports, including a final injury report on Friday with official playing status designations before Sunday’s Christmas Eve showdown with the Carolina Panthers.

Here’s everything to know from Week 16’s first injury report:

— The Packers listed 15 players on the report.

— Five players did not practice on Wednesday. All five are preferred starters.

— Linebacker De’Vondre Campbell, who said on social media that he was done playing through injuries, did not practice Wednesday and was re-listed on the injury report with a neck injury. He was not on the injury report last week.

— Running back Aaron Jones was limited but he added a new finger injury. A.J. Dillon returned to practice in a limited capacity while dealing with a broken thumb. It’s possible the Packers will have both running backs available for Sunday.

— Cornerback Jaire Alexander is still practicing in a limited capacity. He’s missed six straight games.

— Receiver Christian Watson missed practice to start the week. He’s missed two straight games with a hamstring injury. Rookie Jayden Reed also sat out practice. He added a toe injury to the chest injury he’s been dealing with in recent weeks. Can Reed continue shaking off injuries and making big plays?

— Running back Emanuel Wilson (shoulder) and offensive tackle Luke Tenuta (ankle) were both listed as limited. They were designated to return off injured reserve and began practicing Wednesday. Of the two, Wilson has a better chance of returning by Sunday. Wilson has missed four weeks; Tenuta has been out since August.

— Safety Darnell Savage wasn’t available to practice. He missed last week with a shoulder injury and might be in danger of missing another game.

— Left guard Elgton Jenkins didn’t practice, but the team is clearly managing his shoulder injury. He played last week.

— The Panthers listed 13 players on their injury report, so Sunday will be a battle of two wounded football teams.

— The Panthers also had five players not practicing, including edge rusher Brian Burns (illness). Five players have illness designations. Three others were not injury related and was a player resting.
