What to know from Packers’ first injury report of Week 10 vs. Steelers

The Green Bay Packers released the team’s first injury report of Week 10 on Wednesday. The team will release two more injury reports, including a final injury report on Friday with official playing status designations before Sunday’s showdown with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Here’s everything to know from Week 10’s first injury report:

An offer for Packers fans

— Cornerback Jaire Alexander is now listed on the injury report with a new shoulder injury. He didn’t practice on Wednesday. Matt LaFleur said he got “banged up” against the Rams on Sunday. Of note, the Packers no longer list Alexander with a back injury. But his status for Sunday is now up in the air. Now that Rasul Douglas is in Buffalo, the Packers would be severely shorthanded at cornerback if Alexander can’t play against the Steelers.

— Another thing to consider: Alexander missed all but four games in the 2021 season after suffering a significant shoulder injury. It’s unclear if this new injury is at all similar or related to the one from 2021.

— Right guard Jon Runyan Jr. didn’t practice with a new neck injury. He sat out a series against the Rams but returned. He played through an ankle injury earlier this season. Second-year guard Sean Rhyan replaced him for seven snaps in the first half.

— Receiver Christian Watson was a full participant. He’s listed with a back injury but obviously avoided a serious injury after taking a hard fall to finish off a 37-yard catch in the fourth quarter. He also cleared concussion testing.

— Defensive lineman Kenny Clark practiced in a limited capacity. He left Sunday’s win with a shoulder injury and didn’t return. Barring a setback, he’ll have a good chance to play Sunday.

— Left tackle Yosh Nijman didn’t practice. He left Sunday with a back injury. Rasheed Walker is the obvious option at left tackle if Nijman can’t go.

— Safety Rudy Ford and linebacker Quay Walker suffered injuries during the week last week and didn’t play against the Rams. Ford (calf) returned to practice Wednesday in a limited capacity, but Walker (groin) did not participate.

— Running back Aaron Jones is still limited on the injury report but he came out of Sunday — when he handled 24 touches — without a setback.

— The Steelers listed four players on the injury report. Former Packers defensive lineman Montravious Adams (ankle) and Pro Bowl safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (hamstring) didn’t practice. Defensive lineman Cam Heyward (groin) and linebacker Elandon Roberts (knee) were limited.
