What to expect from the weather as Ed Sheeran set to rock out Sunderland's Stadium of Light

Ed Sheeran, music superstar, is set to rock out the Stadium of Light Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th June. The Thinking Out Loud star Ed Sheeran is currently on his + - = ÷ x European tour and fans couldn't be more excited!

It is the first time since 2018 that the pop star has performed around the UK when he played three shows at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena. Ed has also performed at the iconic Saint James' Park on previous tours.

This year's tour comes following the release of his latest album called = last year. The name of the tour references all of the songwriter's albums so far.

The turnstiles at the ground will open to fans at 5pm on both nights. Going off previous nights of the tour Ed's support act will take to the stage at approximately 6pm.

Ed will then follow to perform his set at around 8pm. The whole gig is expected to reach its conclusion just before 10.30pm.

What to expect weather-wise

Friday

Friday will be mainly dry by the early afternoon. Warm sunny spells will develop later with light winds, although some low cloud may continue to affect coastal areas at times. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight, there will be coastal low cloud spreading inland during the evening, thick enough to give the odd spot of drizzle over the hills where it will turn quite misty. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
