What to expect from Graham Potter's Chelsea press conference including Todd Boehly question

Graham Potter will face the press this afternoon at Cobham as his Chelsea side return to action on Saturday.

Almost a month following the Blues' last top-flight game where they came out victorious late on against West Ham United, the side take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in just over 24 hours' time. It's a chance for Potter to see his new players in action for just the second time since taking over as head coach.

Potter oversaw his team draw 1-1 with Red Bull Salzburg over two weeks ago, but then the international break came around, as well as matches being postponed for reasons related to the death of her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. So, it's been an unusual start to life as Chelsea head coach for the 47-year-old, but he's now set for games to come at him thick and fast in a very compacted October schedule.

Chelsea are set to play nine matches in all competitions over the next month, starting with the short trip to Palace tomorrow afternoon. Ahead of the game, Potter will face the media and will be asked numerous questions about a variety of topics. football.london has done its best to guess what sort of questions Potter will face at Cobham...

Big Kante question

N'Golo Kante has been missing since the second game of the season after he suffered a hamstring injury against Tottenham. The France international's absence has been felt in midfield and he will surely slot straight back into the side when he returns to full fitness.

Returning to peak condition does not seem to be too far away for Kante, who made his comeback to training at Cobham earlier in the week. Potter will be aware of the Frenchman's injury record, though, and may be reluctant to start him this weekend. We expect Potter to be asked plenty about Kante today.

Havertz role change

Kai Havertz shone for Germany earlier in the week against England when he dropped back to a slightly deeper position. The 23-year-old has so often played as the sole No. 9 for Chelsea, but after grabbing two goals from the No. 10 position, could Potter consider a change in role?

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looking like the safest bet to play as the lead striker, there is a chance Havertz drops deeper to try and support the new Chelsea signing. It does, though, leave question marks over where the likes of Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling will play in the system.

Boehly's all-star idea

Todd Boehly, rather interestingly, spoke about the prospect of the Premier League introducing an all-star game in the future. The American businessman suggested more money could be made from the game to help those further down the football pyramid.

It was only a suggestion, but it caused some outrage among supporters and pundits. Potter will almost certainly be asked about the idea. It will be really interesting to hear what the Chelsea head coach has to say on the matter.
