Fortive Corporation (FTV), valued at $26.5 billion by market cap, is a key player in the industrial technology and instrumentation industry. Based in Everett, Washington, it offers a range of solutions across three main segments: Intelligent Operating Solutions, Precision Technologies, and Advanced Healthcare Solutions. The company is scheduled to announce its fiscal Q4 earnings results before the market opens on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Ahead of the event, analysts expect the industrial conglomerate to report a profit of $1.12 per share, up 14.3% from $0.98 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company has surpassed Wall Street's bottom-line estimates in all of the past four quarters.
For fiscal 2024, analysts expect FTV to report an EPS of $3.84, up 12% from $3.43 in fiscal 2023. In addition, EPS is expected to grow 7.8% year-over-year to $4.13 in fiscal 2025.

Shares of Fortive have surged 7.1% over the past 52 weeks, underperforming both the S&P 500 Index's ($SPX) 27.2% rise and the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund's (XLK) 29.7% increase over the same period.

On Oct. 30, FTV shares closed down more than 3% after reporting its Q3 results. Its adjusted EPS of $0.97 surpassed Wall Street expectations of $0.93. But, the company’s revenue was $1.5 billion, falling short of Wall Street forecasts of $1.6 billion. For Q4, FTV expects its adjusted EPS to be between $1.11 and $1.14, and revenue in the range of $1.6 billion to $1.7 billion.
Analysts' consensus view on Fortive stock is cautiously bullish, with a "Moderate Buy" rating overall. Among 17 analysts covering the stock, nine recommend a "Strong Buy," one suggests a "Moderate Buy," and seven give a "Hold" rating.
The average analyst price target for FTV is $86.56, suggesting a potential upside of 13.1% from the current levels.
