Multiple shows were set to run after the date for the planned closure of Liverpool's Epstein Theatre.
The venue is set to close at the end of this month after it was decided in 2021 that the cost to sustain the historic theatre was 'unsustainable'. Epstein Entertainments Ltd revealed the news with 'the deepest sadness' yesterday, confirming Laura Belbin's performance on Tuesday, June 28 will be the last before the theatre closes for good.
Prior to the announcement, well over a dozen shows were scheduled to take place at the theatre as far ahead as the end of January 2023, when Stephen K Amos was due to perform. The theatre has said all productions until Friday, June 30 will go ahead as planned.

In that time the theatre will welcome Ricky Tomlinson's show Ricky's Royale Variety!, multiple performances of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Irish folk group the The High Kings are also set to perform before its doors close for good.
However, fans who have booked tickets for shows after June 30 may find themselves unsure of the status of their tickets and if they will be refunded.

Epstein Entertainments Ltd have said that they will be looking to transfer the performances booked for after the day of closure to other venues in the Liverpool City Region. They also added that for any performances that are cancelled, ticket holders will receive a full and automatic refund.

Fans have demanded the Epstein Theatre is saved since the announcement this morning. On Facebook Madeleine Ward remembered taking her grandchildren to pantomimes at the theatre.
She called the closure 'heartbreaking' and said it was 'so sad' the 'simply fabulous' place was closing.
Debs O'Donnell said 'they have to get it saved' with others suggesting that if not 'there won't be any original places left in Liverpool soon.'
Angie Bell said it 'won't be worth going into the city centre'.
