What times does UCAS Track update on A level results day?

We're now only a few days away from A level results day where thousands of college and sixth form students will be finding out how they did in their exams.

Although they may be in the midst of a summer break after leaving school, their results have likely been looming in the back of minds for many.

There are a number of options for A level students following the big day this week; from going straight employment, university, apprenticeships, and more.

But if you're headed down the university and college route, here's some information on Track so that you're well-prepared on results day.

When is A level results day?

Thursday, August 15 2019.

What is Track?

Track is an online system created by UCAS to allow students to check-in on the progress of their university or college applications.

What time does Track update?

You're likely to find out which university you're going to before you find out your exam results (PA)

You may have thought that Track would change as soon as the clock strikes 12am on Thursday, however you'll have to wait a little longer.

Your Track account will update at 8.00am, meaning that you'll most likely know where you're headed to university before even finding out your exam results.

Schools usually open around 9am for students to collect their exam grades.

What will Track show?

Once decisions have been made by your chosen universities, and UCAS has been notified, you can expect to see the following:

Unconditional  - Your place on the course has been confirmed, whether it's firm or insurance, or both.

Unsuccessful  - You've not been accepted by your choice or choices, but you can now enter Clearing.

Unconditional Changed Course  - You haven't met the necessary grades for your offer, but the university have proposed a similar course that meets lower grade boundaries. They could also have offered deferred entry, but you have five days to decide on the opportunity.

Good luck!
