A feast of European rugby gets underway as some of the biggest teams in the sport go head-to-head in round one.
It will be the first year that South African teams will be involved in the Heineken Champions and Challenge Cup, with DHL Stormers, Cell C Sharks and Toyota Cheetahs all featuring.
There will be matches played over the entirety of the weekend, as London Irish and Montpellier kicked off proceedings on Friday night.
