Is Sunderland v Swansea City on TV?

No, the match will not be shown live on television for fans in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Supporters in international areas can watch the action on SwansTV.

What is the latest team news?

Sunderland are set to welcome back Danny Batth and Lynden Gooch to their league squad.

However, the game will come too soon for Wales Under-21 international Niall Huggins while Alex Pritchard, Elliot Embleton, Aji Alese and Dennis Cirkin will also miss out.

As for Swansea, Liam Walsh is the only injured absentee. The central midfielder has returned to full training this week following a significant lay-off due to a ruptured Achilles, although he is not yet match fit.

Michael Obafemi and Jamie Paterson are likely to miss out while Morgan Whittaker has not travelled to Sunderland amid transfer interest in the striker.

What have the managers said?

Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray: "I've been studying them this week. They're number one in our 24-team league for ball possession, number two for shots at goal. There's a perception that they're not having a good season, but they're a very good football team.

"We felt that in the first-half away there. We were playing without a centre-forward that day.

"Their middle centre-half [Harry] Darling kept waltzing through the middle of the team. Until we addressed that we were in trouble because they're a very good football team.

"We have to be wary of them. It's a difficult game. We need to get after the game and make sure they know they're in a football match."

Swansea City head coach Russell Martin: "There's very little between us and them in terms of points. I really like them as a team.

"I thought they were great here (in Swansea) in the second-half, they're young, vibrant and energetic and have a manager with so much experience at this level.

"They pose a lot of threats. I really enjoyed playing there as a player with the atmosphere at the stadium. I think the players will enjoy it and relish it. It's one we're really looking forward to and it's one I think the players are excited for."
