Emmerdale's new schedule begins today on Monday, March, 7 as the long running ITV soap has a major change to the time slot for the first time since 1970's.
For years Emmerdale has aired on ITV weeknights at 7pm, however, this week the schedule will be changing and all soaps including Coronation Street and Eastenders will be effected.
ITV announced that the evening news programme will now air from 6.30pm to 7.30pm as it is extended to an hour with a view to include a wider focus on reporting outside of London.

This means that Emmerdale will move to the 7:30pm slot every weeknight and Coronation Street will move to hour-long episodes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm.
Over on BBC One, Eastenders will now air on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at 7.30pm, which could cause some issues for soap fans who watch both.
Usually, the major soaps don't clash but the new schedule changes means that the two hit soaps will be in direct competition with each other for the first time.

The last time the soaps have challenged one another was back in 1985, when EastEnders tried to take down Emmerdale upon its launch.
The news was announced earlier this year when Emmerdale's official social media accounts posted: "Schedule Change: Emmerdale is moving! From March, you can watch us every weekday at our brand-new time of 7.30pm.”
As always the Yorkshire based soap features unmissable drama this week as it launches a new chapter in the show's history.
Fans will see Manpreet agreeing to visit Meena in prison in exchange for her confession.
But after much deliberation when Manpreet finally arrives, Meena claims they need to take responsibility for their actions, which means Manpreet will have to confess that she lied to police in her testimony to protect Liam.
An enraged Manpreet slaps Meena across the face.
Emmerdale airs tonight (Monday, March, 7) at 7.30pm on ITV.
