What time does Love Island start and how long is the first episode?

Dating show Love Island is back on ITV2 on Monday, June 6 and it is sure to bring the drama, gossip, love and at times cringey moments it is well known for. This year there are set to be two Welsh stars paramedic Paige and student Liam who will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of the 2021 Welsh winner Liam Reardon.

The show will be back on ITV2 for an extra-long episode to kick off the series. Airing at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub the first episode will be an hour and 35 minutes long, finishing at 10.35pm.

For the rest of the series the show will air every weeknight and Sunday night at 9pm. On Saturdays a regular episode will be replaced by Love Island: Unseen Bits and the spin-off show Love Island: Aftersun will air for the first time on Sunday, June, 12 at 10pm after the Sunday episode of Love Island.

Love Island has already announced a huge change to the show as viewers will now pick who the Islanders couple up with as soon as they enter the villa. Normally the contestants choose who they want to partner with but this time the decision will be taken out of their hands.

The soon-to-be couples will also be enjoying a new villa with more 'secluded' areas. There will be a giant metal heart to greet the Islanders, the well-loved beanbags by the pool, the Beach Hut where Islanders talk to the camera about the day's drama and, of course, the famous fire pit where relationships are made and hearts are broken.

Married couple Laura Whitmore and Ian Stirling will be hosting the show with Laura presenting from the villa and Ian doing the voiceover. Love Island begins on Monday, June 6 at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
