It comes after Usyk's shock win over Joshua in front of his hometown fans last year.

What happened in Joshua v Usyk in 2021?
Last year, Oleksandr Usyk shocked the world by beating Anthony Joshua in front of his hometown fans. He outclassed the heavier Joshua and despite being the shorter man, out-jabbed the Brit for large parts of the fight.
Joshua’s feints let Usyk jab the body and he moved effectively, dodging Joshua’s power while returning shots of his own, a masterclass in effective counter-punching. The British fighter showed he could hurt Usyk with some strong right crosses connecting as the fight went on, but Usyk continued to increase his pace as Joshua flagged.
Usyk finished with a clear unanimous decision win, taking the bout 117-112, 116-112 and 115-113 for the judges.
Why was Joshua v Usyk re-match postponed?
The British figure and his Ukrainian counterpart were due to fight back in May. This was then pushed back to July when they were ready for battle, however, there were various problems during negotiations which meant the fight had to be pushed back even further.
Also, when Russia invaded Ukraine, Usyk returned to his homeland to join the fight against Russia which began back in February. He had been volunteering with the Territorial Defence force in Ukraine but has since left his country specially to train for this bout with Joshua and represent Ukraine on the world stage.
