What time do the Baftas 2023 start tonight and which TV channel is it on?

The BAFTAs 2023 will take place tonight, and cinephiles around the UK will be buckling down to watch the most prestigious event in the country’s film industry. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts celebrate the ingenuity and creativity of film and the people who bring them to life, not just in the UK but from around the world.

Among the British actors nominated this year are Bill Nighy for his role in Living, Carey Mulligan for biopic She Said and Eddie Redmayne for true-crime thriller The Good Nurse. British-Irish writer-director Martin McDonagh received a best director nod for his dark comedy The Banshees of Inisherin, while Scottish filmmaker Charlotte Wells is nominated for her acclaimed feature debut, Aftersun.

Some of the biggest names in film will be descending on the capital this evening, with many hoping to earn a BAFTA for their work from the past year. A who’s who of screen legends will be on hand to present the awards, including Brian Cox, Catherine-Zeta-Jones, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sir Patrick Stewart and Jamie Dornan.
