What time and TV channel is Manchester United v Nottingham Forest on today in the EFL Cup semi-final?

Manchester United welcome Nottingham Forest to Old Trafford this evening for the second leg of the EFL Cup semi-final.

At the City Ground last week, United cruised to a 3-0 win with Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and new loan signing Wout Weghorst getting on the scoresheet. Barring a Forest miracle, United should be looking forward to a trip to Wembley in a few weeks time.

The winners of this tie will face Newcastle in the final on February 26th after the Toon Army dispatched of Southampton at St James' Park last night.

Here's what you need to know:

Where is the game being played?

Old Trafford in Manchester.

What time is kick-off?

8pm.

Is the game on TV and can I stream it?

Sky Sports Football and Main Event will be showing the game live. Streaming is available on Sky Go and Now TV provided you have a subscription.

Team news

United have been hit hard by the news that Christian Eriksen is out until April following an ankle injury suffered in Saturday's 3-1 FA Cup win over Reading. On a more positive note, Jadon Sancho is expected to be back in the matchday squad for the first time since before the World Cup break.

As for Forest, their trio of deadline day signings will be unavailable for tonight's game.

Quotes corner

Erik ten Hag on Fred's ability to cover for the injured Eriksen:

"You mentioned already in your first sentence, he's playing together with Casemiro in the Brazilian squad, I would say that's not the worst squad in the world.

"They have so many choices that they can make but they often prefer to play them together. So, that tells something about the quality Fred has and what he can contribute to the team.

"He has done it several times with his performance for instance against Tottenham Hotspur, for instance against Manchester City. When he's coming on [in the] last game [against Reading], he's scoring a goal straight away.

"He has a lot of qualities. I think they are a really good combination, Casemiro and Fred."

Steve Cooper on the task at hand:

"It was obviously a disappointing result in the first leg and we were all frustrated but it's the situation that we find ourselves in and we have to deal with that.

"It's a semi final and a stage that the club hasn't been on for a while so we've got to respect that, we've got to respect the supporters that are travelling and when you play for Nottingham Forest it's an honour and a privilege.

"We are looking forward to the game, we have objectives that we want to try and achieve and see where it takes us. We want to come away giving what we can and show some progression on the things that we're trying to improve on.

"We want to get a positive result, a positive performance and we have to treat the game for what it is. We want a positive result on the night and we want to bring our mentality and spirit to the game."
