Former Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has seen his company Fordstam Limited presented with notice of being struck off. The business was formerly the parent company of Chelsea FC and was formerly known as Chelsea Limited between July 2003 and August 2009.
The First Gazette Notice published on Tuesday said: "The Registrar of Companies gives notice that unless cause is shown to the contrary, the Company will be struck off the register and dissolve not less than 2 months from the date shown above. Upon the Company's dissolution, all property and rights vested in, or held in trust for, the Company are deemed to be bona vacantia, and will belong to the Crown."
Little can be gleaned from the notice other than it is a first notice related to the fact that the company have not filed accounts or a confirmation statement as required. The notice is a function of the system.
Fordstam's last filing was a confirmation statement made on the 31st May 2022 amid Chelsea's takeover by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital. The statement itself was produced May 22nd in advance of the takeover being completed on May 30th.
As a result any action taken on Fordstam will not impact the club the directly, even though the company's offices are still registered at Stamford Bridge as they are no longer connected.
Earlier this year the Times reported that £2.35 billion from the takeover fee, designated to set up a foundation to support victims of the war in Ukraine, is still in a frozen account of Fordstam. Funds were placed in a frozen bank account to ensure Abrmovich did not receive any proceeds from the £4.25billion takeover.

In April, the foundation was still awaiting approval for the funds.
"We're ready to go and we're just waiting for approval,' said Mike Penrose, who is the acting CEO of the foundation.
"There are complexities and delays based around political approval both between the UK and the EU and within the UK.
"We aren't going to make any decisions until we know the money's coming We don't want to end up with a charity but no money."
Abramovich remains sanctioned by the United Kingdom government having been added to the list of financial sactions targets in the UK in March 2022. They cite that he is associated with Vladimir Putin, Alisher Usmanov and benefitting from his support through owning Evraz plc and subsidaries.
