What Spurs players did to Son after Golden Boot goal - 5 things spotted in Norwich vs Tottenham

Kane concerns put to bed

Tottenham fans were sweating over the fitness of Harry Kane ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash against Norwich City. Following news on Friday afternoon that the player had been feeling unwell and not trained as well as pulling out of a media event that afternoon, supporters were left questioning his availability for the match.

Antonio Conte made it clear in his pre-match press conference that his main man would be involved in East Anglia, with Spurs' No.10 returning to training at Hotspur Way the following day. The news all had been waiting for finally arrived at 3pm as Tottenham confirmed that Kane was part of the starting XI to take on the Canaries.

The England captain didn't appear to be suffering too much as he involved in the action right from the off, notably finding the net after 32 minutes with a well-taken finish.

Animated Gollini

An early goal was always required at Carrow Road to settle any possible nerves with Champions League qualification on the line. Tipped to get what they needed in East Anglia due to their excellent form and Norwich's struggles, 16 minutes were on the clock when the Lilywhites opened the scoring.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who had a big chance in the opening minutes, was at the heart of the action as his long ball over the top set free Rodrigo Bentancur, who in turn put the ball on a plate for Dejan Kulusevski to finish. It was brilliant play from Spurs and it sparked wild scenes in the away end.

Those on the Tottenham bench were also out of the dugout rather sharpish to celebrate the goal. Pierluigi Gollini was rather animated as he leant over and pumped his fists towards Ben Davies and Davinson Sanchez in the backline. That's how much the goal meant to all at the club.

Rare Tottenham chant

Davies has had quite the season at Tottenham. Spending the vast majority of his time on the bench in the league under Nuno Espirito Santo, the Welshman was immediately restored to the XI following Conte's appointment as boss.

Taking up a left-sided centre-back role like he does on Wales international duty, the experienced player has gone from strength to strength since November and really made the position his own. Spurs are targeting a new player for the left-sided position this summer but the incoming player will do very well to nudge ahead of Davies on current form.

His efforts have been appreciated by Tottenham fans, with the away faithful bursting into a rendition of 'Super Ben Davies' after the 29-year-old had made an excellent block in his own area. Davies may not have his name chanted week in, week out by Spurs supporters but it was incredibly nice to see him get the recognition he deserves at Carrow Road.

What players did to Son after his second goal

All eyes were on Son Heung-min going into Sunday's game in Norfolk with the Tottenham ace one behind Mohamed Salah in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot. With chances at a premium for the player in the first half, more came his way after the break but Tim Krul in the Norwich goal frustrated him time and time again.

Seeing one effort from point-blank range saved by the Dutch goalkeeper with the rebound hitting him and going out of play, the South Korean was then inches away from netting only for the ball to be bundled off the line. Kulusevski was the architect for his second chance as the Swede rounded Krul and elected to square to his teammate rather than shoot with the goal gaping.

His decision didn't go down well at all with Norwich fans as they chanted at him, only for the January signing to silence them moments later as he curled the ball home into the top corner. Missing yet another opening when put through on goal, Son finally got the goal he craved in the 70th minute and he duly headed over to celebrate with the fans after moving level with Salah for the Golden Boot.

Five minutes later and he was there again as he was held aloft by his teammates after a sublime curling strike beyond Krul saw him move ahead of his rival for the gong. It was a moment all will remember.

Conte's classy touch

Tottenham fans were in full voice at the full-time whistle as they celebrated a place in the Champions League after a two-year absence. Soon joined in the far corner of Carrow Road by all the players and coaching staff, Conte's name was chanted loudly by the travelling faithful as the celebrations got underway.

Applauding the fans as they chanted his name, the Italian showed his class by pointing towards his own players and signalling the huge role they played in a top-four finish after such an up and down first few months in charge as head coach. It was a fitting end to another rollercoaster season in N17.
