Spurs took part in an open training session at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Monday morning in front of a huge crowd. The club confirmed the arrival of set-piece specialist coach Gianni Vio after football.london reported at the end of last month that Spurs were in advanced talks with Vio about a move to N17.

New signings Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma all took part in the session although Spurs' fifth summer signing Clement Lenglet’s recent arrival means he was without the necessary documentation to travel to Korea and will have to wait to join up with his new teammates.

And Tottenham showed their class with a brilliant gesture towards their South Korea superstar. As the players came out for the open training session, in front of a huge crowd, Son led the Spurs squad out onto the pitch at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, something that the forward would not usually do for a regular fixture, let alone an open training session. Son, Harry Kane, Antonio Conte and co were greeted with huge cheers as the squad began preparations for their first pre-season fixture against Team K League on Wednesday. Club captain Kane would usually be at the forefront of the team to lead the players out onto the pitch, but it was the South Korea international that took that role and greeted the fans ahead of the open training session.

Four senior players have been left out of the squad for the tour of South Korea, with Sergio Reguilon, Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks and Giovanni Lo Celso all being left back in north London. football.london understands Conte wants to add two or three more players to his squad before the 2022/23 season, with the club still in advanced talks with Middlesbrough for defender Djed Spence.
