The recruitment team at Arsenal would have been very impressed by transfer target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic's performance for Serbia in their World Cup fixture against Cameroon.
Milinkovic-Savic has long been linked with a move to the Premier League after consistently impressing in Serie A with Lazio. The playmaker has made over 300 appearances for I Biancocelesti since joining them in 2015 from Belgian side KRC Genk.
The Serbian midfielder has been linked with a move away from Italy in almost every transfer window but a move has never left the ground. However, ahead of the January transfer window, Milinkovic-Savic has attracted interest from Arsenal and Juventus over a possible move.

With Mikel Arteta prioritising another centre midfielder to bolster the depth within his current crop of players, Milinkovic-Savic had reportedly been listed as a potential reinforcement. Fortunately for the Gunners, there has been no official confirmation that a deal is close to being sealed, meaning there remains a chance of the Serbian coming to north London. And if you were watching this morning's World Cup contest, you would have wanted to see Milinkovic-Savic in red this season after he scored a tidy finish from the edge of the box.
After failing a goal behind to Cameroon, Milinkovic-Savic played a starring role for Dragan Stojkovic's side in their first half turnaround. After Strahinja Pavlovic levelled the scoring in the first minute of added time, Milinkovic-Savic put his country ahead with a brilliant finish.
