The Arizona Cardinals have been around for years, and did you know that this 2023 season is the team’s 104th season in the National Football League? This 2023, they have a new tandem under the head coach, Jonathan Gannon. Last February 14, the Arizona Cardinals hired the former defensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles as their team’s new coach. We can expect the Cardinals to improve their defensive flaws this season.

Furthermore, another new hire by the Arizona Cardinals is former Tennessee Titans director Monti Ossenfort as their new general manager. As you can see, the Arizona Cardinals are welcoming 2023 with all new staff to help them dominate the year.

Are you wondering how the Cardinals are currently doing in 2023? Well, you’re on the right page. We discuss the previous games of the mighty Arizona Cardinals, injury reports, and if they’re on the right track to win the Super Bowl this season.

October 15, 2023

It was a 26-9 points game favoring the Los Angeles Rams. Sadly, the Cardinals didn’t win against their rivals in this game. Hopefully, they redeem themselves and show that they’re worthy of the rivalry in their next matches.

Updated Injury Report

To fully understand what’s going on with the Arizona Cardinals, you need to find out if they have any injuries and which players would be currently out. Will the Arizona Cardinals stand tall with all its starting players this 2023? Let’s find out with the following injury update.

  • Zach Ertz - Tight End - He got hurt on his quadriceps, and he’s expected to return on Week 12.
  • Zach Pascal - Wide Receiver - He injured his neck, and his injury status is considered questionable for Week 8 vs. Baltimore.
  • Jalen Thompson - Safety - He injured his hamstring on the field, and his status is considered questionable in Week 8 against Baltimore, like Pascal.
  • Carlos Watkins - Defensive Tackle - Watkins injured his biceps, and he’s on injured reverse, like Zach Ertz. He’s expected to return on Week 8.
  • Kyler Murray - Quarterback - Murray has a massive role in the Arizona Cardinals since he’s usually on the front lines. The quarterback got a severe injury in his knee and injured his ACL as well. He’s considered physically unable to perform as of date. Thankfully, this star player is expected to return in Week 10.
  • James Conner - Running Back - Like Murray, he injured his knee, too. He’s on an injured reserve and expected to return in the same week as Murray.
  • Elijah Wilkinson - Offensive Line - Injured his neck and is expected to return in Week 8 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Can They Win in the Super Bowl?

As mentioned above, the Arizona Cardinals are one of the top NFL teams of the season. It means they’re also favored to win in the Super Bowl LVIII. This took a significant turn from their recent 2020-2022 games. This year, thanks to their new coach and manager, we expect that their team play will only improve from here.

Sadly, the Arizona Cardinals are among the twelve teams that haven’t won a Super Bowl. However, things are looking up for this Arizona-bred team for the February 11, 2024 Super Bowl game. If you want to watch the Cardinals in person, book a ticket to watch the game live at the Allegiant Stadium.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, the Arizona Cardinals have had more losses than wins in the recent season. Things aren’t looking up for the Cardinals, especially since they also lost most of their players due to injuries. However, Cardinals fans shouldn’t lose hope since the Super Bowl, the biggest competition in the National Football League, won’t happen until February 11, 2024.

The Arizona Cardinals still have plenty of time for improvement. They would just need to work with their new head coach and general manager to improve their offense and defense.
