What's really going on with Kanye West and Bianca Censori amid divorce rumours

Just two weeks ago, Kanye West and Bianca Censori were hitting headlines for their Grammy’s stunt, which saw Censori taking the “all fur coat and no knickers” saying to a whole new level. Now, rumours are swirling that the pair are headed for divorce, with anonymous sources telling the Daily Mail that Censori was horrified by West’s recent anti Semitic rant on X. But is this a case of people believing what they want to?

The rapper and the Australian architect had a surprise wedding in late 2022, just months after Kanye finalised his divorce from Kim Kardashian. Since then, their relationship – marked by controversy, outlandish fashion choices, and whispers of coercive control – has never been far from the spotlight.

Censori often steps out in barely-there outfits, styled by West. She’ll wear a pair of tights and nothing else, sport duct tape over her breasts, or clutch a pillow to her naked front. At the Grammy’s, she appeared to be bucking her buck naked trend by arriving in a positively demure fur coat.

But after a word of instruction from West, who allegedly told her to “make a scene”, Censori dropped her coat to the floor and revealed a dress so sheer you could only make out its hem.

The pictures which proliferated on social media showed Censori with her usual thousand yard stare: wide eyed, expressionless, and looking a little fearful. This led many to question whether she was okay, and if she was a fully consenting, enthusiastic participant in West’s sartorial direction. Yet later, videos showed Censori at a Grammy’s afterparty laughing and singing karaoke Adele, having changed into a comparatively prudish sheer black bodysuit.

West seemed to revel in the media attention from the Grammy’s. He even shared a screenshot of a Google trends graph to his Instagram story, which showed how interest in Censori’s Grammy’s look outperformed the awards ceremony itself.

Just don’t call it a stunt, though. West took to X days later to say: “She been dressing naked for 2 years. Now all of a sudden it’s a stunt. Every single b***h on the planet wish they had her bravery body platform and access to money and a husband that supported they personal expression,” he wrote, before adding: "I HAVE DOMINION OVER MY WIFE. THIS AIN'T NO WOKE A** FEMINIST S***. The rant quickly turned into a venomous anti-Semitic tirade, which has now been deleted. It was reported that Censori was so “traumatised” by Kanye West’s tirade that she was refusing to continue filming for their project about the female body.

On February 13th, an anonymous source “close to the rapper” told the Daily Mail that “the couple had now broken up and that they expect a legal filing to end the marriage in the coming days.” It was then reported that the pair did not have a pre-nuptial agreement.

However, Milo Yiannopolous, former chief of staff at Yeezy who acts as the couple’s unofficial spokesperson, rubbished the claims. “Ye and Bianca are in Los Angeles, about to enjoy Valentine’s Day together. Announcements about their private life will come from them directly, not unsourced rumour in the tabloid press,” he told The Hollywood Reporter, adding that “announcements about their private life will come from them directly”.

What to make of all this? West is no stranger to a publicity stunt (last year he claimed to be launching adult website “Yeezy Porn”, which never quite came to fruition) and it’s unclear how much he has to do with the anonymous insiders feeding stories to the press.

Neither West nor Censori have publicly commented on the divorce rumours yet. Aerial shots published this week showed rubbish bags scattered outside of the couple’s LA home, but presumably if Censori were to pack up and leave, she wouldn’t have many bags to fill.
