What's on in Scotland this week? Seven things for seven days

Comedian Kevin Bridges is set to perform at The Hydro this week

1 “MY heart’s in overtime and baby you’re behind the steering wheel…” Mind The Darkness? Who didn’t love I Believe In A Thing Called Love?

Anyway the modern glam rockers are headlining the Vibration festival in Falkirk tonight and there are a few tickets still available. Get yourself a ticket and head down. There will be food tents, festival feels, headliners’ stage, disco tent and a secret disco. Braw. All the details available HERE

2 DAVEY Horne, a well kent and well loved singer songwriter from Fife is doing a home country gig tonight in Falkirk, also at the Vibration Festival. Davey has a timeless soulful voice that has earned him the title of a musicians musician. His epic new single Diego & Maria has just dropped and is a glorious sun-drenched melodic classic powerhouse rock track. I’m a big fan. Catch him tonight at the festival at Callendar park. Tickets available HERE.

3 DON’T say I am not good to my readers. I’m giving you all fair warning. The one and only Nick Cave is signing copies of his book with journalist Seán O’Hagan at Waterstones in Sauchiehall Street on Thusrday September 22. Tickets are available as of tomorrow morning (and they will go like hotcakes – thus the early warning). The book is drawn from over 40 hours of interviews and is named Faith, Hope and Carnage and is an insight into the thoughts, feelings, hopes and grief of this legendary artist. For tickets which are £20 and that includes a copy of the book, click HERE

4 THE Absent Ear, Glasgow’s latest secret bar, offers a dutch delight of delicious cocktails in a sexy underground Van Gogh-inspired bar. Once you find the bar and get hold of the password, knock on the secret door and the waiting staff will usher you to a comfy table and proffer up a spaced-out earful of cocktails. I can recommend the space cake highly. It’s in the Merchant City , Glasgow, but the location is a secret. There’s a wee mission for you. Tell them Madam Raquel sent you. For more details, click HERE.

5 RUPAUL’S Drag Race official tour hits the Edinburgh Playhouse, in the heart of the pink quarter of Edinburgh itself. This gig is a yearly fiesta of fun. Acclaimed for their amazing production values, expect the unexpected in this glittering tour which will include series three finalists Kitty Scott-Claus, Krystal Versace, Vanity Milan and Ella Vaday. Tickets are available HERE.

6 KEVIN Bridges. No more needs said. Glasgow’s youngest, funniest son hits The Hydro for an overdue catch up. Tickets are fleeing out the door. Any still available can be accessed HERE.

7 TO celebrate Bridges’s massive home-town run at the Hydro this week Glasgow’s funniest iconic bar Lebowski’s are offering a special Bridges Burger served with hoose rice no less. Typical of the boys from Kained that run Lebowski’s, part of the profits will be going to men’s mental health charity Brothers In Arms. The Lebowski burgers are as legendary as the generosity of Graham and Mo and this deal includes beef, haggis or black pudding with optional Buckie glaze, served with all the trimmings and fries and of course that wee serving of hoose rice. Get in there. Handily placed at the top of the Finnieston strip just near the walkway to the Hydro.
