Summer is fast approaching and there is plenty happening in Liverpool to get excited about.
From stand out gigs and music festivals, to events you can take the whole family to - your calendar will fill up before you know it.

Superstar gigs at Anfield
There are some huge stars heading our way to perform a series of gigs at Liverpool’s stadium during the break between seasons.
Take That are up first on June 6, followed by Bon Jovi on June 19 and Pink on June 25.
It is the first time in 10 years that concerts will have been held at the stadium.
Huge 23ft illuminated Earth

After the giant moon, comes the giant Earth. Liverpool Cathedral will host the exciting new piece of artwork that will be suspended above visitors in the Grade I listed building.
The 23ft installation, called Gaia, is by renowned British artist Luke Jerram and will feature detailed NASA imagery of the earth. Jerram’s moon was visited by 60,000 in the two weeks it was on display in Liverpool last year.
Kings of Leon in Sefton Park
This huge band will headline Fusion Presents - a brand new event coming to Liverpool’s Sefton Park on August 30, ahead of the Fusion Festival.
Kings of Leon will be joined by Franz Ferdinand, Echo & The Bunnymen and Sam Fender.

BBC Summer Social

The UK’s biggest children’s festival returns to Croxteth Park with acts including Busted, Nina Nesbitt, John Newman and Freya Ridings.
Taking place on August 3 and August 4, the family event will also showcase the very best BBC, CBBC and CBeebies talent, including children’s superstar Mr Tumble, Andy and the Odd Socks, Dr Ranj, Cook and Line from Swashbuckle, Yolanda, Hey Duggee and many more.

Stunning spirals of light
One of the highlights of this year’s LightNight in Liverpool will be this Halo installation in Exchange Flags.
The interactive art work will feature stunning spirals of light and sound, with passers-by able to touch the digitally interlinked columns to create beautiful patterns.
Halo will be at Exchange Flags on LightNight, Friday May 17, from 5-11pm. To find out more about what’s happening on LightNight click here .
Sound City

The festival returns to the Baltic Triangle in just two weeks time, from May 3 to 5.
This year’s line up is huge and includes Mabel, Loyle Carner, Shame, The Magic Gang, Louis Berry, Blaenavon, Confidence Man, The Tea Street Band and many more.

LIMF including Disco Classical

Sister Sledge featuring Kathy Sledge was the first act announced for this year’s LIMF, which returns to Sefton Park on July 20 and 21.
The Sunday night headliner will feature a 35 piece orchestra performing a huge number of disco favourites.
Other acts performing at LIMF 2019 include Ella Eyre, De La Soul and MiC LOWRY. See the full line up here .

Pride

The festival is back under its new name Pride in Liverpool on Saturday, July 27. It kicks off with several stages on Tithebarn Street, alongside a dedicated youth zone and a whole host of activities, stalls, food and drink.
Festival goers are invited to March with Pride on the same day, along the traditional route from St George’s Hall before finishing at Moorfields.
The fun continues on Sunday, July 28 at a yet to be confirmed location in the city centre.
Calvin Harris at Creamfields
Headlining the festival on Saturday, August 24, Calvin Harris will be joined by Chemical Brothers, Adam Beyer, and Cirez D, along with deadmau5.
The Grammy award winning DJ is one of the biggest music producers in the world, having worked with Rita Ora, Due Lipa, Rag n’ Bone man and Sam Smith.
Swedish House Mafia also return to Creamfields, for an exclusive UK performance on Sunday, August 25.

Bordeaux Wine Festival

The award-winning Bordeaux Wine Festival is back in Liverpool this summer, after making its debut last year.
Guests can choose from hundreds of samples with experts on hand to explain more about the difference in taste.
It will be on the waterfront from Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2 and tickets are on sale now via www.befliverpool.com , starting from £21.50.
Nile Rodgers

Aaaah Freak Out! Grammy winning musicians Nile Rodgers and CHIC are heading to Haydock Park Racecourse on June 22 for a huge outdoor gig as part of the venue’s Summer Saturdays events.

Cream Classical in the park
Two stages, 20 DJs and the famous Cream Classical orchestra.
The festival is taking over Sefton Park, with Faithless performing a DJ set and Paul Oakenfold, Roger Sanchez, Seb Fontaine and Tall Paul all confirmed.
The event takes place on July 19 and tickets are available at ticketmaster.co.uk or seetickets.com.
