The Indianapolis Colts got their quarterback by sending a 2022 third-round pick to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for veteran Matt Ryan.
The 36-year-old was widely considered the best option on the market after it became clear he was available. The Colts were able to upgrade the most important position in football with little consequence.
They traded away Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders for two third-round picks. They turned around and added Ryan to the offense by giving up just one third-rounder in 2022. And they still have another pick in the third round before the one they traded away.
