What’s inside this year’s $140,000 Oscars goody bag?

For the twentieth year in a row, marketing agency Distinctive Assets made sure the Oscar nominees didn’t leave empty-handed — regardless of their success on the night.

Aptly named “Everyone Wins”, the ultra luxurious goodie bag dolled out to the multi-millionaire A-listers has become as famous as the ceremony itself thanks to its outlandish offerings.

For example, this year’s decadent bundle was worth $140,000 and included a $50,000 three-night stay at Turin Castle in Scotland, the title of “Lord” or “Lady of Glencoe” along with a small plot of land in Scotland, $25,000 worth of home renovations from Los Angeles-based Maison Construction and up to $10,000 worth of “treatments and rejuvenation procedures” from Dr. Konstantin Vasyukevich,

Given out to the nominees for “Best Actress,” “Best Actor,” “Best Supporting Actress,” “Best Supporting Actor” and “Best Director”, as well as the three hosts of Sunday’s telecast: Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer and Regina Hall, the goody bags are extremely coveted.

In fact, Distinctive Assets founder Lash Fary told CNBC Make It that they, “get calls from about 25% to 30% of the nominees each year who want to make sure we know where to get their bag to them,” with stars such as Penelope Cruz, Oliva Colman and Judi Dench asking for theirs to be shipped to Madrid and London respectively.

However, not everyone is impressed by the over the top displays of wealth.

On Sunday, Comedian Ricky Gervais, when asked what he would say if hosting the 94th Academy Awards, tweeted: ‘I’d start with "Hello. I hope this show helps cheer up the ordinary people watching at home. If you’re unemployed for example, take some comfort in the fact that even if you had a job, your salary probably wouldn’t be as much as the goody bag all the actors have just been given.”

The tweet received thousands of re-shares, with many agreeing that with the 64-year-old The Office star. “Appalling excess; the funds should have gone to help in the crisis in Ukraine,’ replied one twitter user.

The boujiee bundle also came under fire from Scottish columnist Lesley Riddoch, who started a campaign calling on the Hollywood stars to snub the gift bag. The petition, which has already attracted thousands of signatures in under 24 hours, takes aim at the plot of Highlands which bestows the title “Lord or Lady of Glencoe” as a “wounding insult” to Scots.

“Scotland is one of the last places in Europe where land can be bought and sold on a whim with no questions asked. As a result, a tiny number of people own the land – fewer today than in 1872,” she writes on the online petition page. “This storm in a goody bag reminds Scots why land reform is urgent and necessary – to turn the ownership of our beautiful country into the shared responsibility of Scots, not a trinket to be traded by strangers.”
