Before Selling Sunset season eight even landed on our screens, a drama-filled storm was brewing. There were angry social media posts, salty quotes to the media and vows to never work with certain cast mates ever, ever again. Once the new season landed on Netflix, the fallout was so bad that fans questioned whether the beloved real estate series would even return for another season. Now, we finally know what is going on behind the scenes and whether Selling Sunset season nine is on the cards. Well, from Chrishell Stause‘s perspective, that is.
The beef kicked off when the cast saw the final edit of the series which included a storyline where cast member Nicole Young accused Emma Hernan of sleeping with a married man.
Emma’s besties, Chrishell and Chelsea Lazkani, clapped back at those claims on their Instagram Stories and slammed producers, as well as the production company Done And Done Productions, for “spreading lies for views”.
On Instagram, Chrishell swore that she would never work on a show with Nicole again.
However, in a chat with PEDESTRIAN.TV, Chrishell revealed exactly what it would take to see her interact with Nicole on our screens again.
“Obviously I have very strong feelings about her that I stand 10 toes down and I don’t take any of that back. I believe every bit of it,” Chrishell explained.
“However, I’m also a businesswoman, and you will always be able to change my mind if you add a zero. So listen, I hate her, but if you’re gonna pay me a ton of money to go say it to her face, write the cheque, I guess.”
“Is that bad?” she said with a laugh.
“My morals are intact, but you know, whether it’s keeping my mouth shut or saying exactly what I think to someone’s face for the right price, I can be bought.”
God, I love an honest queen.
While Netflix hasn’t officially announced the renewal of the show for season nine just yet, Chrishell says that behind the scenes, the relevant parties are trying to sort out their shit so filming can commence.
“Attempts have been made to smooth things over,” Chrishell said of the beef that went down with Nicole.
“We haven’t started shooting again. It’s kind of put a pause on everything. The drama has spilt over to the off-camera world and now when you start filming, it’s basically a shit show.
“It’s undoubtedly going to affect those things. I think the hope is that we will start shooting soon, so pray for me!”
So, while we’re still waiting for the official confirmation from Netflix, it sounds like discussions are well and truly underway to make season nine of Selling Sunset a reality.
