What Ryan Sessegnon did after Harry Kane's stoppage-time winner for Tottenham against Man City

It proved to be yet another memorable evening for Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium as Antonio Conte's side sealed all three points with an astonishing 3-2 victory.

Two months away from the third anniversary of their 4-3 defeat that saw them earn a place in the Champions League semi-finals, Spurs dug in once again and produced some moments of brilliance to claim a much-needed win.

Heading into the game on the back of three successive Premier League losses, the Lilywhites needed to deliver a top performance to keep their top-four hopes alive and that's exactly what they did.

Shocking the hosts with only four minutes on the clock as Dejan Kulusevski slotted them in front after some great play from Son Heung-min and Harry Kane, Ilkay Gundogan restored parity after capitalising on a Hugo Lloris error.

Nudging back ahead through Kane, who later had a goal disallowed for offside, it appeared that Spurs had seen a victory snatched from their grasp when Riyad Mahrez converted a 92nd minute penalty after a Cristian Romero handball.

However, there was still time for one final twist as Kane headed into the far corner to give Ederson no chance after meeting Kulusevski's pinpoint cross.

The goal sparked wild scenes in the away end at the Etihad and it was also pandemonium in the Tottenham dugout as Conte, his coaching staff and players all celebrated together.

As was the case at Leicester City last month following another 95th minute winner, the head coach swiftly turned back towards his dugout, sprinted across and leapt into the arms of his staff members.

It actually wasn't long before Tottenham's coaching staff and substitutes were joined by another player in the celebrations as Ryan Sessegnon darted across to join in the fun.

Substituted minutes earlier as Conte introduced Davinson Sanchez to help see the game out, the left wing-back had actually exited on the far side of the pitch due to his position on the field.

Having to walk the long way around back to the dugout as he did last Sunday after his early substitution against Wolves with Spurs needing to change their tactics, the 21-year-old was on the home stretch not far from Pep Guardiola's technical area when Kane's corner nestled in the corner.

Seeing the coaching team and substitutes burst out of the dugout to all celebrate together, Sessegnon sprinted the rest of the way back and celebrated a well-deserved victory with the Spurs contingent.

Struggling for match action this season with Sergio Reguilon the head coach's first-choice at left wing-back, the ex-Fulham man worked extremely hard throughout the game and defended very well at times to put himself in contention for another start when the team make the trip to Burnley on Wednesday evening.

Speaking after the game, Conte hailed his team and stated that Tottenham produced a "perfect performance" as they defeated Guardiola's great City team.

"For sure was a great win for us against a fantastic team like Manchester City. Compliments to Manchester City because also tonight they showed to be the best team, in my opinion, in the world for their organisation, for the players they have, for Pep," explained the Italian in his post-match press conference.

"To win a game like this means we had a perfect performance. We were very good defensively.

"Before the game, during the press conference, I said we prepared for the game very well, we had a plan. For sure, when you play against Manchester City, you know the ball possession will be 70 % for them.

"But I always say to my players, also in the moments we’re defending, in our minds has to be the target to win the ball and to attack. Then when we had possession of the ball we moved the ball very well.

"The first goal was outstanding for me. Because we prepared for this type of situation. This type of win has to give us confidence to trust in the work we’re doing.

"But we know very well there are many, many games in front of us. We have to fight a lot to stay very close for the first positions."
