What Man Utd's Ruben Amorim and Harry Maguire said about Rangers Europa League clash

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim admitted that he "feels the pain" of Rangers boss Philippe Clement as both men strive to improve the fortunes at huge clubs.

The Red Devils head coach addressed the media on Wednesday afternoon to preview Thursday's Europa League league-phase clash at Old Trafford.

"We expect a tough match," Amorim confessed. "A lot of physicality during the game. I know that there's some important players from Rangers who won't play and we have to know the new players to understand the way they play. Their full-backs are really high up the pitch.

"They have talent to score in the final third, so it's one more difficult game. It's really important for us because we want to escape the play-off, it's really important so we have time to train.

"I expect the same things that we have faced in the last games. A really tough match, a lot of physicality, also the fans from Rangers making a lot of noise, we are prepared, our fans are prepared, and we really want to win."

He was then asked whether he was aware of what's been going on at Rangers and the intense pressure Clement is under to reward supporters with success.

"It's really hard at these massive clubs," Amorim replied. "Rangers have won a lot. I think are the club which has won the most titles in Europe. It's really hard in this moments for any coach or any club. But I hope to improve my team before him, especially tomorrow. I feel the pain of the Rangers coach."

"We know they are going to come here and give it everything, they are going to be followed by a great support, and I think they have done extremely well in the competition.

"We expect a tough game but I think we need to focus on ourselves, making sure that we perform on the back of a bad defeat at the weekend. We will go there with confidence that we can perform and get the three points."
