Calvin Harris has declared his DJ set on Liverpool's open top bus parade through the city as the greatest gig of his life.
The world-famous music singer-songwriter joined the Reds' first-team and coaching staff as the club celebrated their two trophies secured during the 2021/22 season the day after the Champions League final. It is estimated 500,000 people lined the streets to welcome home Jurgen Klopp's side, who enjoyed a campaign to remember despite missing out on European silverware in Paris.
A theme in both of Liverpool's cup final wins this season has been the return of Dua Lipa's hit 'One Kiss', produced by Harris, which gained popularity among fans after being sung during the opening ceremony of the 2018 Champions League final in Kyiv. The song has since become somewhat of an adopted anthem for Klopp's side and again made an appearance during the parade at the end of May.

Explaining how the opportunity came about to play the song to become part of the club's celebrations, Harris told Capital Radio : "It was the most unreal experience in my entire life as I am a Liverpool fan. I got chatting to Andy Robertson and he said 'Is there anything you can do? Maybe you could DJ at Anfield or on the bus?' I was like 'Mate, get me on that bus!'"
Commenting on the growing popularity of 'One Kiss' among Liverpool fans and how plans to perform his DJ set came close to being scuppered, the 38-year-old added: "It [One Kiss] didn't become a football anthem, it became a Liverpool anthem specifically. That happening was bizarre in itself.
"It was a four hour DJ set, it started off very residential and we got two hours into my set and the sound guy rang up from the bottom of the bus and he said 'We're running out of power, we've got ten per cent on the battery left'. Andy Robertson was freaking out and was like 'What do you mean? We've got to get to the docks where it all goes mental!'
"We decided to turn the volume down to use less power, so I turned it right down. Firmino is on the other end of the bus pointing at the speakers like 'Mate, there's no sound!' There was a truck behind us setting off fireworks every now and again and we managed to run a power line from this truck to the bus with seconds to spare, just before we turned the corner to the main street where everyone was going mental.
"He ran up and was like 'We've got power! Bearing in mind, this [the DJ set] was only supposed to be for the boys on the bus, the sound isn't meant to go out there, and I cranked it - you could hear it for miles. It is probably the best gig of my life."
