What religion are the Kardashians as Kourtney marries Travis Barker in Italian ceremony

Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian have married again during a ceremony in Italy.

The Blink-182 drummer and reality star were joined by more friends and family this time around, as they exchanged vows in Portofino at the Dolce & Gabbana estate.

During the ceremony, Kourtney wore a long dramatic veil that featured a hand-embroidered depiction of the Virgin Mary, and ahead of the ceremony she was spotted wearing a black mini dress that featured another depiction of Jesus' mother.

The pair’s lavish third wedding, which included religious iconography throughout, has led to questions surrounding their religion.

Here’s everything we know about the Kardashians' and Travis Barker’s religious beliefs.

What religion are the Kardashians?

The Kardashians are Christians and have spoken about their faith several times, often referencing it in their social media posts, although it's not clear which denomination of Christianity they belong to.

In an interview with Vogue in 2018, Kim Kardashian opened up about the family’s beliefs.

“We don’t share it much, but we’re really religious," she said.

“We start our day with a group chat with a Bible verse from my mom, and everyone chimes in on the meaning of it.

“We are very Christian - and our work ethic and our discipline comes from so many years at Catholic school.”

The Kardashians have Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox backgrounds.

They attended both Catholic and Protestant schools while growing up, and Kim later went on to have herself and her three youngest children baptised in an Orthodox Christian ceremony in Armenia.

The family currently attend a non-denominational Christian church in LA.

Momager of the Kardashian clan Kris Jenner is the co-founder of the California Community Church, which was formerly called the Life Change Church.

The church is located in Agoura Hills, California, which isn’t far from where the family lives.

But the Kardashians don’t actually attend the California Community Church.

Prior to Kim’s divorce from Kanye West, the family regularly attended his Sunday services, often posting about them on social media.

But since the pair’s split, they no longer go to West’s Sunday services.

Instead, they have been known to frequent Hillsong Church alongside other celebs including Justin Bieber and Chris Pratt.

What religion is Travis Barker?

The iconography of the Virgin Mary appeared several times during Kourtney and Travis’s Italian wedding ceremony, and it turns out that Travis even has the mother of Jesus tattooed on his head and forearm.

Travis Barker is a Catholic and has spoken openly about his religion.

In an interview with Vice, he said: “I got the Virgin Mary tattooed on my foreman when I was 18, 19. and I was brought up Catholic.

“I definitely pray; I believe in God. I definitely think I was blessed, and I’m here for a reason after being the only survivor of a plane crash.

“So I’m not at church every day and I’m not pushing religion on people. But I believe in God and I pray and my kids pray.”
