What Rangers pundits and fans are saying about Connor Goldson after defender drops hint over his Ibrox future

Passionate Connor Goldson got fans and pundits alike talking with his badge-kissing celebration against Ross County.

The big centre-back is out of contract at the end of the season and it's expected he will leave Rangers with a return to England on the agenda.

But he has remained a favourite of Gio van Bronckhorst and came up with their third goal in Saturday afternoon's thrilling 3-3 draw.

Goldson nodded in the goal that put Rangers in front sparking wild celebrations in the away end. And he matched the intensity himself as he was seen thumping and kissing the badge on his chest.

Pundit Kris Boyd highlighted it as he spoke on Sky Sports after the game, suggesting it was a hint he is set to stay at Ibrox in the long-term.

Boyd said: "I thought his celebration was interesting, kissing the badge. Is he going to stay? We don't know.

"But the contract is a discussion for another day. The defending from Rangers was really poor."

And he wasn't the only one to spot it as fans flocked to Twitter to make their feelings known.

One wrote: "Big Goldson holding the badge after he scored, aye d’you love it pal? Sign the f****** contract then."

And another said: "Goldson kissing the badge says a lot, get that pen to paper for a new deal."

However it wasn't all positive as another fan admitted he is still likely to leave, saying: "Goldson giving the badge thumping celebration... But he will be gone at the end of the season."

And one went even further, claiming the defender has no right to kiss the badge until he commits to the club.

"See Goldson kissing the badge, that’s a joke. Sign your contract. There’s fans all around the world who would play for us for nothing."
