Arsenal managed to show once again their mettle when conceding a goal. Out of nothing, Aston Villa scored directly from a corner despite paling in comparison to the Gunners' dominance.
It was a game that challenged Arsenal to continue to push for a goal despite being frustrated in their best efforts and then made worse by the equaliser. Gabriel Martinelli was the man to score just minutes after Douglas Luiz's freak strike.
The game was, however, filled with plenty of interesting moments spotted inside the stadium that could have slipped under the radar. Here football.london takes a look back at some of the moments you may have missed from the game.

Arsenal crowd rise as Saka rages
In the first half, Bukayo Saka was thrown to the ground by Tyrone Mings, and after a brief VAR check, the calls for a penalty were waved away. The sheer noise in the stadium erupting at the fall of the England international was deafening.
The connection between the crowd and the players was immediately obvious. Despite days passing between the last game and this, the buzz around this Arsenal team and the backing from those in the ground resumed well ahead of the referee’s whistle being blown to start the match.
Saka was also chasing the officials frantically even after the decision had been waved away. Being on penalty duty, the 20-year-old would have been desperate to get the call and get his first goal of the season to give him a much-needed boost.
Mikel Arteta’s painful reaction to big miss
Saka’s night got worse just 15 minutes later as Gabriel Martinelli’s driven cross went past Emi Martinez and found the England international alone and with the goal gaping. However, on his weaker foot, he failed to find the connection, and the ball went flying high, wide and not very handsome.
Mikel Arteta’s hands went straight to his head in desperation to see his star boy, desperately in need of some fortune, fail once again to hit the back of the net. He will know that getting Arsenal back into the Champions League will need the aid of a top-form Bukayo Saka.
Ramsdale reacts to Martinez horror show
Arsenal broke the deadlock in the first half thanks to a horrible mistake from their former goalkeeper Emi Martinez. The Argentinian international couldn’t collect a Gabriel Martinelli deflected cross and instead parried the ball into the path of Gabriel Jesus.
His strike was rushed but certainly within the keeper’s reach, but he was still unable to stop it. At the other end, with his side now in the lead, Aaron Ramsdale celebrated the breakthrough with a characteristic punch to the air and ran over to his manager to celebrate.
Ramsdale faced plenty of questions upon his Arsenal arrival. Many supporters felt the Argentine should have been kept and given the number one shirt over Bernd Leno after his end-of-season performances.
On the basis of the actions of both tonight, it is fair to say Arsenal are the better for it now. The win takes the Gunners' top once again and maintains their perfect record.
