What Radamel Falcao said about Colombian teammate and Liverpool target Luis Diaz

Liverpool have sent over a delegation team to handle the medical in South America ahead of a sensational new signing.

The Reds are set to spend £49 million on Luis Diaz from Porto in a deal which seemingly came out of nowhere.

Klopp has been a known admirer of the winger, with reports leaking earlier this month about a potential deal to bring him to Anfield. However, a £60 million price tag saw them put off - with a move potentially back on the cards in the summer.

But when Tottenham came in with a bid, Liverpool's hand was forced - coming back with an offer pleasing enough for Porto to accept.

FANS REACT: Liverpool supporters give verdict on stunning move for Luis Diaz

Diaz has been an exciting prospect since arriving in Portugal from Colombia - scoring 26 league goals in two seasons, whilst taking a huge leap this campaign with 16 goals and six assists.

He chose to join Porto after fellow countryman Radamel Falcao spoke to him about the club, who's first move away from South America was with the Portuguese side.

And Falcao has heaped praise on Diaz, who believes his time with Porto has developed him into the player he has become.

Falcao said: "I am very happy for him, he has impressive conditions.

"Going to Porto, in Europe, gave him the ability to understand and analyse the game better.

"He knows how to play, he knows what to do."

Diaz is currently with the Colombian national squad alongside Falcao, with both expected to start tonight against Peru.

They'll then travel to Argentina, where a Liverpool medical team will meet him ahead of a move.
