Arsenal defender Ben White clashed with Manchester City playmaker Phil Foden on Wednesday night after the Citizens beat Mikel Arteta's men 4-1.
An early Kevin De Bruyne goal set the tone at the Etihad Stadium as the visitors struggled to deal with the reigning champions' press before John Stones doubled his side's lead shortly before half-time. After the break, it was more of the same and De Bruyne then netted his second of the game.
Rob Holding eventually got a consolation finish for the Gunners before Erling Haaland added a fourth in stoppage time, a result that brought City within two points of the north Londoners whilst also having two games in hand on the league leaders. After the full-time whistle, Arsenal right-back White appeared to grab the back of the shirt of City attacker Foden as the two exchanged words.

The clash comes as a surprise when you consider that the pair are teammates on the international stage, both representing England in recent times, with Foden previously heaping praise on White during the European Championships back in the summer of 2021. During the tournament, the City starlet was asked which teammate had surprised him the most in training.
"You know I really haven’t seen a lot of Ben and he came in and has been brilliant in training, so I’d say Ben White," he told ITV.
