What Peppa Pig voiceover stars look like in real life - and where previous cast are now

Peppa Pig is a staple in most family homes, and kids can't get enough of the adorable creature's exciting adventures.

The show has been running since 2004, with six series containing a total of 303 episodes, earning a BAFTA along the way.

Created by Neville Astley and Mark Baker, the show is a hit with parents as Peppa and her family learn lots of important lessons as they have fun, and the programme shows her doing everyday activities including going swimming, riding her bike and going to playground.

While most children and parents know the shows off-by-heart, would you recognise the stars who create those now famous voices?

The main character, Peppa, has been voiced by four actresses over the years, with the most recent reportedly earning £1,000-an-hour at the time she quit.

We've had a look at the actors who lent their voices to the characters, and found out what those who have already left on got up to after Peppa.

The main character has been voiced by four people in the show's history.

Lily Snowden-Fine was the character's first voice when the show debuted in 2004.

Now 22, Lily is living in Toronto and works as an illustrator and painter, with a number of big clients including the New York Times. She has written two children's books, Why Do Dogs Sniff Bottoms and Why Do Cats Meow?

Cecily Bloom was up next, taking over the microphone for the second series.

After leaving the show in 2009, she focused on her studies and earnt herself a university place to study medicine.

She told the Daily Mail: "I enjoyed voice acting but it was just something I did for fun and was never really something I wanted to go into seriously.

"I want to do medicine because I think it will be a really interesting and rewarding career."

The third voice was Harley Bird, who had the longest stint on the show at an impressive 13 years, appearing in 185 episodes.

Her work earned her a BAFTA in 2011.

She started when she was just five, and quit in January at the age of 18 when she was in the middle of her A-levels, saying she was looking forward to the "next chapter".

She reportedly earned £1,000-an-hour for voicing Peppa.

Announcing the news, she said: "Becoming the voice of Peppa Pig at the age of five was the start of an incredible journey, and I'll never forget my time on the show.

"The people that work on Peppa Pig have become like a family to me and they've given me some unforgettable memories.

"I wish Amelie the best of luck in the role and am looking forward to starting the next chapter in my life."

In February, nine-year-old Amelie Bea Smith became the fourth Peppa Pig.

Before joining the show, Amelie had made a series of appearances on EastEnders.

Her agent Mark Jermin said: "Amelie has been a huge fan of the show since she was little, so voicing the title role is like a dream come true and she's thrilled to become part of the voice cast."

Peppa Pig co-creators Neville Astley and Mark Baker, from animation studio Astley Baker Davies, said: "We're delighted to welcome Amelie to the Peppa Pig voice cast and confident that she will continue the strong legacy of the previous Peppa voice actors.

"Lily Snowden-Fine defined the role when she first voiced the character in series one at age five.

"As our longest-standing Peppa, Harley's award-winning contribution to the show over the past 13 years has been tremendous, making her a key part of the success of Peppa Pig."

He has also done voiceovers for a number of big video games, including Risen, Fable 2, Viking;Battle for Asgard, and Dungeon Keeper 1 & 2.

Mummy Pig

Morwenna Banks says that her normal voice doesn't sound much like Mummy Pig, so very few people know it's her.

Speaking to This Morning, she said: "I don’t particularly sound like Mummy Pig, so you wouldn’t know it was me. But Richard, who’s Daddy Pig, really sounds like Daddy Pig."

But voiceover work is just a small part of Morwenna's talents, and she's a very successful producer.

She's a founding member of Absolute Productions, which has a number of huge shows to its name.

In 2015 she wrote the film Miss You Already, which starred Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette.

She's also had acting roles in Holby City and Red Dwarf, as well as other voiceover roles - including Mr Bean, Danger Mouse, Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom, Rupert the Bear, and Madame Gazelle and Dr Hamster the Vet on Peppa.

She is married to comedian David Baddiel and the couple have two children, Dolly and Ezra.
