Pep Guardiola looked to have let the Anfield atmosphere get to him once again after Phil Foden's goal was disallowed by VAR.
Liverpool and Manchester City fought out a blistering encounter on Merseyside, with the raucous Anfield crowd playing more than its part. City looked to have taken the lead 10 minutes into the second half when a collision between Alisson Becker and Erling Haaland forced the ball to Foden, with the 22-year-old able to fire into the net off the shin of Joe Gomez.
But in the aftermath of the goal, VAR official Darren England instructed Anthony Taylor to check the build-up, and after a few quick checks, the referee disallowed the goal for a foul in the build up. Haaland had pulled Fabinho to the ground unfairly, allowing Bernardo Silva to run on to a loose ball and start the move that would end in Foden's finish.

Guardiola was incandescent as Taylor walked to the screen, seemingly aware of what decision was about to be made, and when the Anfield crowd cheered and roared at the disallowed goal, the City boss was livid.
Reports within the ground, namely from Sky Sports' Melissa Reddy, suggest he was repeating 'This is Anfield' while jeering up the crowd behind him.
The drama surrounding the goal lit the touch paper for an intriguing game to turn into all-out chaos.
The Spaniard will have been even more furious to see Mohamed Salah open the scoring not long after, spinning Joao Cancelo to latch onto an Alisson long-ball before slotting calmly past Ederson.
With just five minutes left Jurgen Klopp was sent off for what looked to be an overly-aggressive protest, following a tackle from Silva on Salah.
