Chelsea have unveiled the signing of Ukrainian winger Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk at Stamford Bridge during Sunday's clash with Crystal Palace. The 22-year-old joins on an eight-and-a-half-year contract in a transfer that's said to be worth up to €100million (£88million).
The signing of Mudryk takes the Blues' total January transfer business to five additions, having already acquired David Datro Fofana, Andrey Santos and Benoit Badishile as well as Joao Felix on loan. The Ukraine international seemed unlikely to move to west London until the past 24 hours though.
Instead, a move appeared close to north London as rivals Arsenal courted a switch for the pacey wideman since the end of the previous summer transfer window. Mudryk himself had even openly admitted that he would like a switch to the Emirates Stadium over months of social media hints and interviews.

The Gunners made three bids to Shakhtar Donetsk, with a standstill over talks as both stood firm on their individual valuation of the winger. It led to Chelsea pouncing on a switch, making a U-turn on their decision to pull out of a deal and instead look to secure a swift agreement.
An official announcement was made by the Blues on Saturday night, reading: "Chelsea are discussing terms with Shakhtar Donetsk for the transfer of Mykhailo Mudryk. Should a deal be agreed between the two clubs then the Ukrainian international, who can operate as a winger or a forward, will discuss personal terms with the Blues ahead of a permanent transfer."
Several social media posts in reference to him were also posted before a medical and contract signing took place. Mudryk was then unveiled in front of the home support, where he applauded the fans that he will soon be playing in front of in his brand new blue kit.
