What must change for Chelsea to sign Enzo Fernandez and the other potential deadline day deals

The end of the January transfer window is fast approaching, but that isn't deterring Chelsea, who remain locked in talks with Benfica over a potential club-record deal for Argentine star Enzo Fernandez.

Chelsea have a little more than 24 hours to reach an agreement with the Portuguese giants, who have thus far been adamant Fernandez will not depart unless his £105million release clause is paid – and in full – before tomorrow evening's 11pm deadline.

That is not a structure Chelsea's hierarchy, which remains confident a deal can be struck, have been willing to accept. An offer of a guaranteed £105million is understood to have been made today, but the fee would be spread across several instalments. Something will have to give if Fernandez is to relocate to Stamford Bridge.

The deal for Fenandez will – unless an agreement is reached today – dominate transfer deadline day. Yet there are other potential transfers to be done, especially given Graham Potter's first-team squad is in need of some trimming.

As always with the Blues, there is much to debate and discuss, especially with the transfer window closing tomorrow evening. So we felt it only right to give you, the supporters, an opportunity to ask our chief Chelsea correspondent Adam Newson any question you like about the club.
