Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal have been dumped out of the World Cup after losing 1-0 to Morocco. Youssef En-Nesyri's first half goal made the difference as the African nation continue their spectacular campaign.
Ronaldo started the match as a substitute once again after he was dropped by Portugal boss Fernando Santos for their last 16 win against Switzerland. It is likely to be the 37-year-old's final appearance at a major international tournament as his glittering career continues to come to an end.
Morocco were huge underdogs against Portugal heading into the match but found themselves 1-0 up at half-time. As the final whistle blew, Ronaldo left the pitch in tears without congratulating the Moroccan players and staff with their supporters going wild in the stands.
