What Mino Raiola said to Sir Alex Ferguson in Manchester United meeting about Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba and his late agent Mino Raiola lifted the lid on the player's acrimonious first exit from Manchester United in 2012 in Pogba's new documentary.

Pogba is set to leave Old Trafford this summer, with United confirming the midfielder will officially depart when his contract expires at the end of June. It brings an end to his six-year spell at the club – his second stint with the Reds.

The 29-year-old is expected to rejoin Juventus in a repeat of the move that saw him exit United for the first time 10 years ago.

A decade ago, Pogba and Raiola instigated an acrimonious split from the club after graduating from United’s academy. His decision to leave Old Trafford angered then manager Ferguson.

Back then, Ferguson took aim at Raiola, blaming gun for turning Pogba's head and convincing him to leave the club. "Pogba signed for Juventus a long time ago as far as we're aware,” Ferguson said.

“It is disappointing. I don't think he showed us any respect at all, to be honest. I'm quite happy that if they carry on that way, they're probably better doing it away from us."

Raiola, who passed away earlier this year, appears in Pogba’s new Amazon Prime documentary, ‘The Pogmentary’, which gives a behind-the-scenes look at the midfielder’s life. In it, the late agent hits back at Ferguson for his comments.

“Mr Ferguson thought that the value of Paul [Pogba] we were exaggerating and he should be happy to sign,” Raiola said. “I told him that for this money my chihuahua would not walk on the grass of the training centre.”

Pogba was in the meeting with the pair and added: “I was shocked. I was like ‘okay’. We got our stuff and he said we’re leaving. And we left. Sir Alex Ferguson probably never experienced something like this in his career.”
