What Matheus Nunes has said about Wolves change as new Liverpool rumours emerge

Matheus Nunes is the latest player to be linked with a move to Liverpool.

Reports emerged on Monday that Liverpool are exploring the possibility of signing Nunes from Wolves. It has been claimed by The Telegraph that the Reds are mulling over a deal that could see Nunes arrive for the start of next season.

Nunes signed for Wolves from Sporting Lisbon in the summer in a deal worth around £38m. Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for the midfielder at the time, but no move materialised and the player instead moved to Molineux.

It was claimed that Liverpool could strike a deal that would see Nunes move to Anfield at the end of the season. A fee in the region of £44m was reported as being a potential amount that could be involved.

Since Nunes arrived at Wolves, there was a change in management with Bruno Lage replaced by Julen Lopetegui. And back in December, Nunes spoke about how things have altered since his arrival back in the summer.

“It’s been really good,” Nunes told Wolves’ club website back in December.

“Not only now, but I was also talking to them when I was at the World Cup and everyone was giving good feedback. Now I’m seeing it, everything is so much different.

“The staff, the environment, everybody seems much happier, the environment with the players and the new coaches has been really good and everything has been different; the training, the intensity, the treatment of the players, and everything is much higher and better.”
