What Liverpool dressing room said about Carabao Cup win over Chelsea

Celebrations continue after Liverpool won the Carabao Cup for the first time in 10 years on Sunday.

The Reds secured the honours after beating Chelsea 11-10 in a penalty shootout to conclude a dramatic evening at Wembley.

Members of the squad took social media amid the post-match and dressing room celebrations to share their delight at winning the prize, as well as their hunger for more.

There was also praise for the younger members of the squad and Virgil van Dijk said what we're all thinking - it's boss being a Red.

Three more to go

Liverpool are now the most successful team in English football history, but this squad has its eyes on even more silverware this season and attention has already turned to the remaining competitions.

A number of social media posts from the player's reflected their hunger to push on with the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup still up for grabs.

Mohamed Salah shared a post on Instagram saying: "One down..."

Trent Alexander-Arnold echoed that sentiment as he posted: " 1/4. Hungry for more..."

Fabinho also said: " One more title to this group that works a lot for it. Let's go for more. Always for more! All glory to God!"

This trophy could be what gets the ball rolling on potentially the most incredible period in the club's history, and the players are certainly hungry for it.

Praise for the youngsters

A key part of Liverpool's run to the Carabao Cup final was the youngsters that played in the earlier stages of the competition and captain Jordan Henderson made sure that didn't go unnoticed.

Caoimhin Kelleher and Harvey Elliott were the youngest of the squad to feature in the final, but the likes of Kaide Gordon, Conor Bradley, Tyler Morton, Harvey Blair, Neco Williams, Curtis Jones, Owen Beck and Billy Koumetio all played their part en route to the final.

The skipper said on Instagram: "It’s an honour to lift this trophy 10 years on. Special shout out to every young player that has played along the way, you're a credit to this club."

Boss being a Red

With the man of the match and Carabao Cup trophy in hand, Virgil van Dijk said what every Liverpool fan is thinking.

He said in a Instagram post: " It’s Boss being a Red!"

Starlet Harvey Elliott, who came on as an 80th minute substitute, also said: "Special day yesterday, love this club!"

Vice captain James Milner posted on social media: " Buzzing they’re going to have to re-decorate the Champions Wall again. Incredible celebrating with this group of people in front of the amazing travelling support."
