Leroy Sane asked Bayern Munich to dish out a lenient punishment to Sadio Mane after the former Liverpool forward punched him in the aftermath of the German side's 3-0 defeat to Manchester City this week.
Mane was reportedly left angry after an exchange between the two players in the latter stages of the 3-0 Champions League quarter-final defeat, before an altercation in the dressing room led to the Senegal forward throwing a punch at Sane, leaving him with a cut lip.
Bayern Munich yesterday confirmed that Mane had been fined and suspended for the match against Hoffenheim this weekend, although he was pictured smiling alongside Sane in training on Thursday having reportedly apologised to the entire squad for his actions.

In a statement from Bayern Munich on their official website, they said: "Sadio Mané, 31, will not be included in the FC Bayern squad for this Saturday's home match against 1899 Hoffenheim.
"This is due to his misconduct after Bayern's Champions League match at Manchester City. Mané will also be given a fine."
However it appears as though Sane had asked for 31-year-old Mane to receive leniency after holding talks with Bayern CEO Oliver Khan and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic, with reports in Germany claiming that the former Man City winger is keen to put the incident behind him as Bayern entire a crucial stage of the season.
Nevertheless, Mane, who has scored 11 goals and laid on five assists for Bayern since joining from Liverpool in the summer, could be sold by the club once the transfer window opens as the German giants assess their options.
