Arsenal fans have been made to wait but after 20 days of the January transfer window being open, they finally have their first new signing to shout about. Leandro Trossard was confirmed as a new Gunners player on Friday afternoon, joining from Brighton in a deal worth an initial £21million plus add-ons.
The Belgian was ecstatic about the move, telling the official Arsenal website: "I'm really excited to get started, this is a big club and I'm ready to show the fans what I can do. Everyone has seen how well we're doing already and I'm here to help achieve their dreams - including myself.
"I'm going to take it day by day, work hard and try to help the team to achieve their goals. [I want to] get better as well. I know the manager is a great coach and I hope to be involved in doing great things and getting better as a player in every aspect."

In making the move to the Emirates Stadium, there were a few familiar faces greeting Trossard, with former Brighton teammate Ben White there as well as Belgium international compatriot Albert Sambi Lokonga. Discussing reuniting with them, the 28-year-old said: "I'm really excited, I want to start straight away, I want to show myself, help the team, so I'm looking forward to meet all the guys. I'm excited!"
Upon his introduction to London Colney, Trossard was pictured hugging White as the two met once again as teammates, both with big smiles on their faces. The defender even went on to post a picture of the new signing on his Instagram story, showing delight over the move.
It could hint give a first glimpse of the two as a partnership going forward, with the Belgian being a versatile option that can play across the front three. If he plays on the right, he would likely partner White, who has been the first-choice at right-back throughout this season.
