What Kylian Mbappe has said on Chelsea and Arsenal move amid Real Madrid and PSG decision

Premier League clubs have been put on red alert following the news that Kylian Mbappe's relationship with Paris Saint-Germain is 'completely broken.'

The Frenchman joined the Parisiens in 2017 on loan and made his move permanent one year later for £162m. He has since been expected to join Real Madrid, though, with Los Blancos extremely keen to acquire his signature when he leaves PSG.

Chelsea and Arsenal may well be monitoring the situation with extreme interest, though, as Spanish publication Marca report that PSG won't be selling him to Madrid and that Mbappe himself has told president Florentino Perez of this choice.

Mbappe has already spoken about his willingness to sign for Arsenal before and even spent time at Chelsea when he was younger as well. Upon signing for PSG in 2018, shortly after winning the World Cup with France, Mbappe said, "I met with Arsene Wenger, who is a great coach.

"He has a great reputation here in France. He's well-respected and knows how to develop young players. This was a real option for me. We weighed up the advantages and disadvantages of all the clubs, but my family told me it had to be my decision and one I needed to make. It also had to be a long-term decision. So it was up to me, and I decided to come here in order to develop."

Four years later and Mbappe may well be the centre of a massive transfer next summer after relations at PSG have crumbled, with the striker reportedly wanting to leave as early as January this year. Marca goes on to write that Liverpool made an attempt to sign him this summer. Chelsea may also fancy their chances, though, and Todd Boehly, who has just spent £250m on a record-breaking transfer window, would surely be keen to add the superstar to his team.

Mbappe has already played for Chelsea before, though, and he explained, "I was still young back then, maybe 10 or 11. I went to London and spent just under a week over there," he told FourFourTwo. "I trained at Chelsea, and we played a friendly match against Charlton Athletic.

"We won 6-0 or 7-0. I played upfront, but I don't think I scored. It was great – it was my first experience abroad and a chance for me to see what the game was like in England."

Any deal to get Mbappe would take a huge transfer fee with his signing an extension this summer until 2025, though Marca reported that the actual deal is until 2024 in a shock turnaround.
