What Jude Bellingham said to Man City ace Erling Haaland after Borussia Dortmund draw

Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham has admitted he shared a goal-themed joke with former teammate Erling Haaland after Manchester City were held to a 0-0 draw at Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday night.

With City having already confirmed their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League, Dortmund followed suit by earning an admirable point courtesy of Gregor Kobel's second-half penalty save.

The Blues struggled to find their rhythm on the night, with Pep Guardiola acknowledging the draining impact that travel may have had on his players. The Spaniard also notably withdrew Haaland from proceedings at half-time.

And Bellingham, who netted in the reverse fixture alongside Haaland at the Etihad, revealed the details of his conversation with the Norweigan at full-time.

He told reporters: "I said to him (Haaland) at the end of the game 'we’re 1-1 on goals' but I’m not too satisfied because I didn’t score either but, of course, we got the draw, that’s what we needed to carry through this journey."

Bellingham also highlighted the importance of keeping a clean sheet against a City side that are so often ruthless in their pursuit of goals.

"It’s good for us on that side of the game, defensively we were really good," he explained. "Not many teams keep clean sheets against Manchester City, especially this season with all the quality they’ve got.

"To do that is really promising for us, I think we could’ve gone for it a little bit more but we can be grateful they missed a penalty and Greg made a huge save. There’s different things to take from the game, we were here to qualify and we did that."
