What Jude Bellingham has done on England return ahead of potential Chelsea transfer switch

Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jude Bellingham has been back in England this week before he makes his return to club action in the Bundesliga. It comes after the 19-year-old took his form from club level to the international stage, being a key player for the Three Lions in their World Cup campaign.

His ball-carrying, passing and ability to win duels make him a well rounded option already, adding both the potential to improve and his maturity to the mix has created an elite-level midfielder. It's made Bellingham highly sought after from the top clubs, if he wasn't already.

Chelsea are one of those sides linked with a switch for the England international, with the midfield in desperate need of a refresh in the transfer window. The youngster fits the age profile of the new ownership regime's transfer strategy, while he would add immediate quality too.

The Blues will have some competition though as the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have also been linked with a move. January may offer a chance to make an attempt at landing the youngster, though a transfer in the summer seems much more likely.

While transfer rumours swirl over a return to the Premier League, Bellingham has spent some of his down time back in England before he is playing in Germany again. He was a special guest at former club Birmingham City on Friday night in their Championship clash with Reading.

While there, Bellingham finally got his chance to say goodbye to his boyhood club after leaving them during the pandemic when games were behind closed doors. Taking to social media afterwards, he said: "Ain’t no place like home. My club. Thank you Bluenoses!"
