What Jordan Henderson said to Gabriel Magalhaes during Arsenal win vs Liverpool amid FA findings

It has been revealed what Jordan Henderson is thought to have said to Gabriel Magalhaes during an altercation between the pair in Arsenal's 3-2 win against Liverpool earlier this month.

The Brazilian was involved in an argument with Henderson after Gabriel Jesus won a crucial penalty which Bukayo Saka converted as the winning goal for the Gunners. The FA enlisted the help of a lip reader in an attempt to solve their ongoing investigation into an incident that occurred during Arsenal vs Liverpool on Sunday.

Proceedings were briefly paused in added time as Michael Oliver, the referee, ran to the touchline to speak with both Mikel Arteta and Jurgen Klopp. It's understood to have referred to an argument that erupted inside the Liverpool penalty area and involved several players.

Following the dramatic match at the Emirates Stadium, an FA spokesperson said: "We are aware of an incident that took place during the match between Arsenal and Liverpool. We are in dialogue with the match officials and will review the details of the incident."

The FA later confirmed that they will not be taking any disciplinary action over the incident that occurred between Gabriel and Henderson with the case being dropped against the Liverpool captain. The Liverpool captain is believed to have told the investigation he called Gabriel a ‘f****** idiot’, according to The Daily Mail, with the Arsenal star believing he used another, far worse word in Portuguese.

None of the other players questioned from Arsenal or Liverpool could confirm or deny whether it was exactly what Henderson had said, or what Gabriel had mistakenly heard. The Liverpool captain would have had to have demonstrated a command of Portuguese-Brazilian dialect that he simply does not possess if he had said what Gabriel had accused him of saying.

Following the conclusion of the investigation, the FA released a new statement which read: "Following an investigation into an allegation received by The FA in the Premier League fixture between Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC on Sunday 9 October 2022, The FA can confirm that it will not be taking any disciplinary action.

"The FA received a complaint about an incident involving two players in this fixture. As a result of the complaint, The FA conducted a full and thorough investigation. The investigation included taking witness statements from the complainant and accused, along with an additional six players who were within proximity of the alleged incident, reviewing multiple angles of video footage, and seeking independent linguistics experts evidence.

"None of the witnesses heard the alleged comment, and the player accused strenuously denied the allegation throughout. Whilst The FA is entirely satisfied that the allegation was made in good faith, it is equally satisfied that there is no case to answer.

"The FA continues to take all allegations received extremely seriously and would encourage anyone who believes that they have been the subject of or witness to abuse to report this through the appropriate channels. The FA receives a number of complaints in any one season and thoroughly investigates each one that it receives. Following consideration of all of the evidence received, not all cases will result in a charge being issued."
