Liverpool continued their title challenge by registering an important and timely victory at Arsenal.
Diogo Jota and substitute Roberto Firmino were on target as the Reds earned a 2-0 win against the Gunners on Wednesday evening. The result means Jurgen Klopp’s side have now closed the gap on Manchester City at the top of the table to just a solitary point with nine games remaining.
But there was plenty that went unnoticed or under the radar during the 90 minutes at the Emirates.

Jordan airs unhappiness
Iffy first half, much better second half, Jordan Henderson's performance pretty much followed the pattern of most Liverpool players on Wednesday.
Certainly, the skipper put in a big shift after the break, not least when helping out Trent Alexander-Arnold to ensure Arsenal dangerman Gabriel Martinelli finished the game with no goals, no shots on target and no assists.
As Liverpool looked to press home their advantage late on, Henderson even found time to burst forward into a gap down the right with Alexander-Arnold in possession in the full-back position.
"TRENNNNNNT!" came the shout only for the ball never to arrive. The look on the captain's face said it all.
Arsenal fume at... Arsenal
From the performance of the referee, the manner of Liverpool's two goals and a disappointing reverse, there was plenty for Arsenal supporters to be unhappy about at the Emirates.
But if there was one group of people that really prompted ire, it was other Gunners fans.
Several hundred near the press box remained on their feet for much of the first half, prompting one fan to repeatedly scream "Sit down! Sit down!" in an attempt to have a proper view of the match.
He was joined by a few others. In the end, many were up and gone long before the final whistle as their team were beaten.
Press box stumped
Liverpool's biggest Premier League game of the season to date? Most probably.
That, though, wasn't quite enough for a section of the media, who were offered an unusual distraction inside the Emirates.
Rather than showing pictures from the match, the main televisions high in the centre of the press area instead broadcast action from the England cricket team's second Test in West Indies.
Given what happened in the second half, maybe the Arsenal media team knew what was coming.

Whoever controls the half-time music at Arsenal is quite clearly an avid wrestling fan. In recent times, the Gunners' setlist during the interval has been peppered with WWE tunes from the likes of Triple H, Kurt Angle and Kane.
But it was a brief airing of 1990s star Razor Ramon's theme on Wednesday night that was more poignant than usual as the Liverpool substitutes warmed up on the pitch during the break.
The passing of former WWE and WCW Scott Hall this week, after a long battle with addiction and alcohol issues, has left fans of sports entertainment in mourning and the playing of the Bad Guy's unmistakable entrance music did not go unnoticed by old-school wrestling followers at the Emirates.
It was a classy touch from Arsenal's resident wrestling fanatic.
